Anthony Parent is a founding partner of Parent & Parent LLP, the tax law firm that powers IRSmedic.com. His law firm specializes in just one thing: helping taxpayers find their way out of the tough tax problems. Not only have he and his team of attorneys, CPA's and tax professionals developed a proven formula to ensure that every one of their clients get the absolutely the best deal with the IRS, they also have a strong advocate on their side. His teams goal is not just to the tax problem, but find out what caused the tax problem in the first place. His explains his firm's philosophy: “Our clients come to us in rough shape. And we just don't want to patch them up and be done with them. We want to see why our clients got into that rough shape to begin with, and do what is in our power to see that it never happens again.” Attorney Parent is routinely quoted on tax issues in Connecticut and national media, mostly recently in the Wall Street Journal, SmartMoney.com, Wall Street radio, Fox CT and the Hartford Business Journal Attorney Parent graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a BS in Finance. He then graduated, with his father and firm co-founder, David G. Parent, from the Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2002. He distinguished himself by earning the CATIC award for outstanding achievement in Property and Real Estate Finance, and successfully arguing and overturning his client's conviction in the Quinnipiac Defense Appellate clinic. Attorney Parent continued to hone his appellate resume by successfully racking up additional wins in his private practice. However, the emotional strain became too great, so he and his father decided to focus strictly on tax resolution law in 2007. Explains Attorney Parent “The IRS is, in many ways, much easier to deal with than a client convicted of a home-invasion double-homicide.” Attorney Parent a Wallingford, Conn., native, still resides in his hometown. He is married to Erika Kovacs Parent and they have a son, Ulysses. He and his wife are next-door neighbors with his father and mother, Cathy. If time permits, he enjoys cycling, playing hockey, snowboarding and flying. He has a band room set up in the attic of his firm's headquarters in Wallingford, for clients and friends to come by and jam when the mood strikes.
