Bio

Amy Remmele, owner of Peak of Success, is the Psych-cess coach, balancing sound psychological lessons with business success principles. As a coach, Amy works with women who are in difficult or challenging relationships, with professional women who want to stand out and make a mark, and with couples. As a consultant, trainer and speaker, Amy works with business owners who want all of their relationships to be an asset and who want everyone in the organization to internalize the company's sales and marketing strategies to create the best image. She believes that communication and relationship management are the foundational issues for success. In her work as the Professional Relations Specialist with Western New York Psychotherapy Services, Amy is committed to the goal of psychotherapy and counseling becoming as common for people wanting to live their best lives as regular dental checkups are for people wishing to maintain healthy teeth.

Amy's latest book, Chief Life Officer: Your Life Is The Most Important Business You'll Ever Own (CLO), uses business as a metaphor of life, outlining people's inner “departments” and how they function best through an authentic, shared mission. From mapping out a “business plan” and goals for life, through communication and relationship creation, to maintaining and accessing support systems, CLO enables the reader to ask, and answer, life's vital questions. Amy also co-authored, with Dr. Kent Bath, the book, Re-Phrase It: Adding Empathy and Emotional Intelligence to Your Everyday Life, and the relationship workbook, Empathy, Communication and Conflict Resolution Home Study Program. Amy writes a monthly column called “Ask the Life Coach,” for the After 50 News and a column for the newsletter of the Buffalo Niagara chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Amy writes for and edits the Western New York Psychotherapy Services newsletter.

Amy has been involved with NAWBO for five years as the Program Chair, a Board member and the Awards Chair. Amy is on the Board of Directors, the Mentoring Committee and the Networking Committee of the Canisius College Women's Business Center. Amy is also on the Board of Directors and serves on the Mentoring Committee and as a Mentor with the University of Buffalo's Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. This year, Amy received the Women of Influence Award from Business First. Amy is a member of the National Speakers Association and judges DECA competitions at the state level. In the past, Amy has served as the convener of the Amherst Task Force for Healthy Communities, as a member of the Advisory Board of the Small Business Council, and as a Board of Directors member of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce. Amy was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the Amherst Chamber in 2005.

Amy balances her career and community service with being the mother of an eighteen-year-old daughter and thirteen-year-old twin sons.

I have challenged the WIN members to work on their defining statements and post their "trials." We are all going to be honest, but gentle with our feedback. It will be fun and very valuable to do this exercise. You are welcome to do the Wow, How, Now trials too. Good luck.

Here is an exciting offer for the members of Women's Business Center WIN Groups who attend my Defining and Branding workshop during their regular meeting: If you are one of the first 20 to sign on to my blog and post your "trial" defining statement, I will give you a copy of Mark LeBlanc's book, Growing Your Business. And you will get my feedback and probably get feedback from other blog readers.
